Microsoft is following Apple to create another laptop whose components you can never replace. iFixit also tried to break a new Microsoft surface laptop which is ultra-thin and light and priced at £979 which they could not do without completely destroying it.

The teardown team had trouble from a metal feet instead of screws, clips, adhesive, fabric cover and soldered parts. The surface’s excellent material is Alcantara. iFixit team used a knife to cut it and to see its internal components.
After carefully investigating it they came to know that its impossible to replace the parts. The processor, SSD and RAM are attached with the motherboard and the motherboard is protected by thermal pads which makes it thicker. It took 10 steps to remove the battery

iFixit gave surface laptop 0/10 for reparability and said it’s a disposable laptop and once out of order cannot be fixed.
