Realme Neo8 Upgrade Report

  Muhammad Ahmad Rasheed

New information from China suggests Realme is working on the next model in its Neo series, the Realme Neo8. This phone is expected to replace last year’s Neo7 and is rumored to bring several key upgrades to performance, battery life, and design.

What to Expect from the Neo8

Although Realme hasn’t announced an official release date, leaks indicate the Neo8 is on the way. The most talked-about improvements are a significantly bigger battery and a new top-tier processor. The battery capacity is said to jump to 8,000 mAh from the Neo7’s 7,000 mAh. For power, the phone might switch from using a MediaTek chip to Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.

A More Premium Build

The rumored changes aren’t just internal. The Neo8 is tipped to get a more premium construction with a metal frame and glass on the front and back. It’s also expected to upgrade to a faster and more advanced ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, moving away from the optical sensor found in the current model.

Building on an Already Tough Phone

Beyond the new chip and larger battery, the Neo8 is likely to continue its focus on durability. The current Neo7 already has strong dust and water resistance ratings (IP68 and IP69). It’s not yet known if the Neo8 will match or possibly exceed these standards with an even higher certification. Details on other features, like the screen, cameras, or charging speed, haven’t emerged yet.
