The Vodafone India and Idea Cellular are going to merge and the deal is likely to be done by next year in March. All the regulatory approvals are expected to be attained by that time, said by an authority covert to the deal. In the merger scheme of Vodafone and Idea Cellular only two permissions are left. Although an industry source told PTI that these permissions should be obtained by end of the current financial year.

Vodafone and Idea Cellular both are seeking nod from National Company Law Tribunal after which they will require the final confirmation from the Telecom Department. The Indian mobile network operator Idea Cellular will organize a meeting with creditors and shareholdersto look for their approval for the merger of Vodafone India’s business with its on October 12. The meeting of secured creditors, unsecured creditors and equity shareholders will be organized in Gandhinagar. This amalgamation deal gives Idea Cellular an implicit enterprise value of INR 72,200 crore and Vodafone IndiaINR 82,800 crore.
