UAE’s telecommunications regular has claimed that computers in UAE haven’t been impacted by the new ransom ware attacks which are spreading from Russia and Ukraine to Europe and US.Thousands of computer systems got compromised on Wednesday amid to virus struck. It demands payment of $300 because files of big companies and government agencies are at stake.

TRA Claims UAE is Unaffected by New Cyber Attacks Wave

WAM, a state news agency issued a statement that there are no virus cases being reported to TRA (Telecommunication Regulatory Authority) in UAE. However, it advises to users to not update ransom ware version of ‘Petya’.

The recent attack has a similarity to the last month WannaCry ransom ware which swept the globe by hitting 200,000 users in 150 plus countries.

On the other hand, this attack is small in nature keeping in view the victims, according to the Kaspersky Lab, global cybersecurity firm, number of affected are 2000 users.

TRA also asked users to avoid opening links or sources from unknown source strictly and update their softwares in routine.
