For the 3rd mobile telecom license in Oman, UAE’s Etisalat group has submitted a bid which is in line with the strategic expansion planning, keeping in view the potential of market. Footprint proximity for the main market and synergies which are likely, are reasons shared in the brief statement.Apart from Etisalat, contenders for the bid also encircle Saudi telecom group and Kuwait’s Zain Group who have proposed for the bid too.
On 14th of August, Oman’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) will declare qualified bidders whereas the one winning would most likely be notify on 4th of September 2017.Zain group considers Omani market promising opportunity for the growth which will complement with their regional stability. Their bid has a comprehensive financial, technical and business plan. Commercial proposal for the 3rd license is also one of the segments of the bid.
Clearly, the winning bidder would gain foothold in the Oman market in a much better way. Though, Oman will continue to open up new horizons.
