Telecom regulators have declared an increase of 228% in mobile phone penetration whereas only in the month of March 132000 new subscriptions added. In the first quarter of 2017, 228.3 phones per 100 persons penetrated in UAE, stats shared by a viable source – Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

Mobile Phone Penetration on Rise in UAE, 132000 New Subscriptions

News agency WAM shows an increase of 132000 new subscriptions in the month of March which is a jump of total 19.8 million subscriptions. TRA tells us that largest increase was in the prepaid mobile services. This shows mobile phone penetration and usage has increased significantly, especially in the UAE region. Year by year increase is also an indication of telecom industry growth.

In Telecommunication networks readiness factor, UAE ranked as number one in the Arab region, according to World Economic Forum study published. That is the reason why, many top telecom companies globally eye the region to invest and launch their latest gadgets and smartphones.
