Easypaisa enables NRDP Customers for Loan Repayments

Easypaisa has signed an agreement with National Rural Development Program (NRDP) to provide the most convenient solution for Loan Repayments and Loan Disbursements to NRDP customers. NRDP has a current customer base of approximately 8,000 borrowers which are expected to reach 12,000 by the end of 2014. NRDP is the 9th Microfinance Institution in Pakistan to have integrated with Easypaisa.

Other Micro Finance Institutions/Banks utilizing this solution include Tameer Microfinance Bank, Asasah, DAMEN, Kashf Foundation, Rural Community Development Society, Safwco and Thardeep Rural Development Program. The success of Easypaisa’s Loan Repayment solution can be judged from the fact that transactions have grown from just over 1,000 in August 2013 to nearly 80,000 in July 2014.

National Rural Development Program (NRDP) is a non-government, non-profit & non-political, development, advocacy and relief organization dedicated to working with the deprived, neglected oppressed rural communities to fight against poverty and injustice. NRDP was formed in 1992 by a group of volunteers to help the poor and low-income communities in the jurisdiction of district Narowal with the name of “Narowal Rural Development Program (NRDP)” and later on registered in 1995 under the Registration and Control Ordinance of 1961.

Easypaisa enables NRDP Customers for Loan Repayments

Easypaisa’s Loan Repayment Solution has been of immense help to both Microfinance Institutions and their customers. Typically, loan beneficiaries or recovery officers had to travel long distances to deposit/recover loan installment amounts. But with nearly 50,000 Easypaisa shops across 750 cities in Pakistan, open late at night and also on weekends, loan beneficiaries can visit any nearby Easypaisa shop or use their Easypaisa Mobile Account to deposit their loan installment in time. A comprehensive daily report/MIS is also provided to the MFIs which lets them know the status of their recoveries, thus making it easy for them to manage their records. In this way, Easypaisa provides a convenient and hassle-free solution to loan beneficiaries as well as a cost saving solution to the Microfinance Institutions.

Easypaisa remains committed to improving the lives of the people of Pakistan by providing easy and convenient access to a comprehensive portfolio of financial services. With more than 400,000 transactions per day, the first and the largest Branchless Banking service serves more than 6 million unique Pakistanis every month with Over-The-Counter services like Money Transfer and Bill Payments. More than 2.5 million Pakistanis have also opened Easypaisa Mobile Accounts, which are complete bank accounts operated from the Mobile Phone. Other Easypaisa services include different Payments, Savings, Insurance and Lending products as well. In 2013, Easypaisa moved 1% of Pakistan’s GDP and won the “Best Mobile Money Service in the World” award by GSMA in February 2014.
