It has been reported that Google has hired Manu Gulati who was working on Apple chipsets and now will work on Google pixel phones to take them to the next level of execution.Google’s Lead SoC Architect is the position for which Manu Gulati is being hired.

The position demands to oversee chip systems research & development which are strongly intended to be part of upcoming Google products like smartphones, tablets or may be Chromebook.

Over the period of time, Google relied on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets but since Gulati is part of the team now, they’ll be able to build their very own parts, saving the money for the company in the longer run.

Aside from saving money, creating chipsets at home has other advantages too. Gains on performance of the smartphones would be counted as huge.

Not only Apple, Samsung is also working on its SoC which they are naming Exynos.
