WhatsApp has upgraded its app’s stable version by adding a couple new features on its beta version a few hours ago. The users will now be able to enjoy the picture-in-picture video calls as well as text-only status messages. The text-only status messages have been reported earlier. Here we only focus on the new PiP feature.

The new PiP feature is basically included in new Android Oreo OS, which allows the video element to run continuously in the smaller window even when the user has minimized the main WhatsApp app. In this regard, WhatsApp has also taken advantage of this new feature by allowing you to minimize your calls to the smaller window in case you have left the main app for opening some other app.

This PiP feature is now also added into the other Android devices that are running on new 8.0 Oreo.
