  MPC Team

By having a glance, one might think that nothing much has changed in new iPhone 8. Fact of the matter is, it looks just like iPhone 7 or even iPhone 6. But that is truly not the case. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus back has been changed to glass plate rather than aluminum back like iPhone 7.

Glass plating has made the new wireless charging thing feasible. Apple new phones back glass “are reinforced by a steel and copper structure with the 50 percent deeper strengthening layer using our dual ion-exchange process” making it “the most durable glass ever made in a smartphone.”

First drop test was done from pocket height i.e. 3 feet on cement pavement. Phone drops from a pocket all the times and that isn’t usual. Screen remained intact, minor damage for metal frame, corners and back.

Second drop test of iPhone 8 was done from 5 feet height. That is exactly the same height from eye level. Screen of the phone completely shattered, back sustained damage.
