Huawei has recently announced 40% increase in sales revenue with 108 million shipments last year. The company is setting new targets even higher. Huawei has forecasted 140million shipment this year. For this it has planned to set up 15000 new retail stores worldwide. If the current estimates are true, this will be 30 percent increase in shipment from last year.
“We are optimistic and confident about reaching our target shipment of 140 million smartphones this year. … [The current number of our stores] is far from enough. We are going to open more retail stores overseas” said Richard Yu Chengdong, said chief executive of Huawei’s consumer business group, Tuesday.
Currently, Huawei is keeping 35,000 retail stores throughout the world with 11,000 residing in China, and the few of rest (6,500) located in Asia. Europe has 6,200 in Europe and South America has 1,500 South America. The company has retail presence in 170 countries.
Huawei Technologies recently unveiled that company’s consumer business had 41% increase in sales in of first half of 2016, half of which is from the international market.
