While launching the flagship Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Design, the CEO of Huawei Mr. Richard Yu made an important revelation while giving interview to the media representative of CNET. He revealed that after LG and Samsung, his company Huawei is also currently working on the production of foldable smartphones.
The trend of producing foldable smartphones started with ZTE, when Axon M was released. Now that Samsung and LG have also aimed at entering this race, the decision from Huawei to also enter this race is commendable, and will trigger a speedy race.
So we can expect that 2018 year will have a stiff competition among brands vis-à-vis the foldable smartphones.
Huawei’s CEO has also hinted towards working on the prototype of this proposed foldable smartphone. However, it will not be launched before 2018. This proposed phone will likely become the direct competitor of Samsung’s Galaxy X, which is also going to be a foldable phone.
