Windows Bug Bounty Program is launched today by the Microsoft under which the company will pay $250,000 to expand its existing programs for security bug bounty. For Windows 8.1 bugs, the company paid $100,000 but this time, Microsoft is paying huge for Hyper-V flaws for upcoming Windows 10.

Security bugs which would be found inside Microsoft Edge or Windows 10 preview builds would get $15000.

Microsoft spokesperson opined, “Security is always changing and we prioritize different types of vulnerabilities at different points in time … Microsoft strongly believes in the value of the bug bounties, and we trust that it serves to enhance our security capabilities.”

The bug bounty program that have launched today will continue at Microsoft discretion and any critical flaws suspected in Windows will get a bounty.

Google, Apple, Facebook and other tech companies launch bug bounty programs so to reveal vulnerabilities at early stage to avert cyber-attacks attempts.
