What is the estimated Manufacturing Cost of iPhone X?

  MPC Team

Undeniably, Apple iPhone X is by far the most expensive smartphone ever made, but the real thing to ponder is that how much Apple is actually paying as a total manufacturing cost for the iPhone X.

Chinese industry watchers have made a little investigation and have tried to calculate the cost of iPhone X, which is allegedly the most advanced handset in the modern period.

Let’s get down to business: The estimated manufacturing cost of iPhone X is $412.75, which is probably 59% cheaper than its actual price, i.e. $999, which is only the price of its basic 64GB variant.

The most costly part in the phone is 5.8-inch Super Retina display manufactured by Samsung, for which Apple is paying $80 for single unit. Another source has suggested that the company is actually paying more than $110 per unit.

Other than that, A11 Bionic Chipset costs $26 per unit, 3D Face ID sensor costs $25, front glass panel costs $18, Toshiba-made NAND memory is worth $45 for 256GB, and 3GB RAM is priced at $24.

Still, many critics suggest that the profit margin of $59 is still a very modest achievement by Apple. However, this is not so in actual, because many other expenses are also needed to be accrued such as shipment, software etc.

So, here is the comparison of different iPhones vis-à-vis their actual manufacturing cost and selling price for basic variants.
