WhatsApp has recently announced to test a feature directly within its app, through which the customers will be able to view the YouTube videos in their chat window. Such a step will then leave out the need for launching the YouTube app for playing the video whose links are shared by users on WhatsApp.

YouTube Video Support Now Directly Within WhatsApp
This feature will enable the playback launch through picture-in-picture window within WhatsApp screen. This feature will also offer the users functionalities such as full-screen video mode, pinch-to-zoom and hide ongoing playback. Through these features, the users will continue reading their chat messages while they are playing YouTube videos.

However, the video will automatically stop once the users switch to any other chat box. This feature is currently available only on iOS, where as the supported devices are only iPhone 6 and above versions. The testing on Android and Windows Phone is still not done, but it is expected that it will also be carried out soon.
