Samsung is investigating WikiLeas claims that its Smart TV is being used as a tool to capture the privacy of consumers via voice command.
The Whistleblower has already leaked many privacy breaching tools being deployed by other software agencies like Google and Apple.
Recently, it has claimed the same for Samsung Smart TV by saying, a project known as Weeping Angel which also reported to be attached with the Apple Smart TV project. This project is initiated by UK’s MI5.
Samsung gas retaliated to these claims while considering to probe the matter
“Protecting consumers’ privacy and the security of our devices is a top priority at Samsung”. “We are aware of the report in question and are urgently looking into the matter.”
The leaked document says that a fake off mode was created when the screen goes off but it records the audio of the consumers which is sent to CIA servers when the internet connection re-establishes.
Many Smart devices like these have instruments that pick voice commands of consumers. In 2015, Samsung also warned its users not to speak anything at a certain distance from its Smart devices, as it has instruments that pick command and give it to Samsung or third party.
