Samsung officially unveiled two newcomers: E7 and E5

Samsung, the undisputed yet troubled market leader had hardly mentioned anything like “smartphone” at CES on day before yesterday. But the weirdo just made an official announcement of duo of newcomers to add up to company’s mid-range Portfolio of 2015. This announcement was made on the official launch of Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 in India, yesterday.

As mentioned earlier both E7 and E5 are mid-rangers while E7 tilting more towards upper mid-range. In comparison to proximity with specs and prices of Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7, E7 and E5 are appearing to be more affordable alternatives.

The Samsung Galaxy E7 comes with a 5.5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display. It runs on a quad-core SoC 1.2 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB on-board storage. It has a 13 MP rear snapper and a 5MP front-facing camera. It is powered by a 2,950mAh battery. It is dual-SIMmed and is priced at about $363 (Rs. 23,000) in India.

The Samsung Galaxy E5 is more mode stand comes with 5 inches, 720p Super AMOLED display. It runs on a quad-core chipset humming at 1.2 GHz, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 gigs of available storage, and an 8 MP rear snapper/5 MP front-facing shooter. It is powered by 2,400 mAh battery and bears a microSD slot. It is also Dual- SIMmed and is priced around $305 (Rs. 19,300) in India.

Both the Galaxy E5 and E7 runs Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI atop Android 4.4.4 KitKat, but Samsung leaks show that it will be updated to Lollipop in the foreseeable future. Its international availability however is still unrelieved.
