We had reported in August this year that Samsung had purchased full stock of Snapdragon 845 SoC from Qualcomm for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 as well as S9+. It has been revealed today that the production in the first phase of this chipset will all be sold to Samsung for its new S9 smartphones, which will be released in first quarter of 2018.

Galaxy S9 and S9+ having Snapdragon 845 will basically be bound for the US market as a matter of fact. Moreover, compared to Samsung, other companies manufacturing smartphones will be getting their hands on Snapdragon 845 at a later stage. Hence, this can be said that Samsung will once again have a time-to-market benefit on its competitors if seen from this perspective.

The similar thing has happened before too when S8 duo was released by Samsung early this year. This was when Snapdragon 835 SoC was introduced for the first time, and Samsung did capitalize on that as compared to its competitors back then. So, it can be concluded that next year’s S9 duo’s special treatment will also get the company great rewards and sales.
