According to a recent report, a Samsung smartphone caught fire during a Delhi-Indore flight, which turned many people in panic as the alert crew tried to put the situation under control. The flight is of Jet Airways, which had 120 passengers onboard and after that it landed safely.

The smartphone is said to be a Samsung Galaxy J7, which is owned by Arpita Dhal a Delhi resident. According to her, the handset was in her bag that she had put under her seat. She told Hindustan Times that smoke started coming out of her bag after fifteen minutes the flight took off.

Arpita’s husband Atul told the newspaper that it was a mid-air panic situation, so, we prayed to God. They put the smartphone in water to stop the smoke and any other potential explosion. Samsung has been under the stress over past few years over the Galaxy Note 7, with its battery responsible for explosion. Then Samsung had banned the Galaxy Note 7 mobile phone after many incidents of handset bursting into the flames. A month ago, one more Samsung smartphone had caught fire in Indonesia, and the company had said that use of third party battery is responsible for the incident.
