Design

Its designed on a metal and and glass build similar to Galaxy S7. The Galaxy A7 metal frame feels nice and there is slight curve on the 3D glass back. It has a 5.7 inch display and

156.8 x 77.6 x 7.9 mm dimensions. Its bezels are very slim.

Display

The Galaxy A7 (2017) features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display with a 386 ppi pixel density. The display is nice and bright even under the direct sunlight so using it in the outdoors is not an issue at all.

The Always On Display feature is a nice addition to this smartphone. It displays the date, time, day of the week and can even be configured to display the time in another time zone. It can also display notifications from native apps and you can double tap on a notification to view it. There is also support for third-party app notifications on the Always On Display.

Camera

It has a 16-megapixel f/1.9 camera with LED flash on the back and a 16-megapixel f/1.9 camera on the front. The rear camera can shoot at 4:3 aspect ratio on full resolution while 16:9 is available at the 12-megapixel setting.

Software

It comes with a 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It features Grace UX instead of TouchWiz. The Grace UX has softer colors and rounded icons so that its easier on the eyes.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is powered by a 1.9GHz Exynos 7880 octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, Mali-T830MP3 graphics processor, and 32GB of storage. The Samsung Galaxy A7 is also capable of supporting a microSD card up to 256GB.

Battery Life

The Galaxy A7 has a 3600mAh battery and we found that it has a great battery life.

Conclusion:

It is a good phone with great specs but the price tag of Rs 55,000 is not justifiable.  You can buy Flagship Galaxy S7 by spending little more amount. Its  up to you to buy a Samsung phone at this price tag or buy a Xiaomi, Huawei or Infinix phone.

Pros

  • Exception build quality (glass and metal build, just like Samsung’s flagships)
  • Great battery life
  • IP68 water-resistance is a plus
  • Hyper-fast and accurate fingerprint reader
  • Crisp display
  • Flexible expandability (2 SIM cards and storage card up to 256GB)
  • Smoothened UI with lots of options

Cons

  • Non-removable battery
  • Glass and metal body, but does not support wireless charging
  • Poor camera performance (in low-light)
  • A smudge and fingerprint magnet that requires constant cleaning
  • Small speaker grill does not deliver stellar audio quality
  • $399.99 might feel on the higher side for a small number of consumers
