Google’s Duo has been installed over 100 million times so far. The tech giant has made Duo a snap to use. Last March it rolled out an update enabling audio calls to be placed over the app, which makes it even more useful for users. The most important factor that ran up the installation count was the fact that back in December, Duo started to come pre-loaded on new Android devices out of the box. Moreover, Duo works with iOS as well as Android.

FaceTime, on the other hand, is only designed for iOS. The multi-platform ability implies that if iOS users require to video chat their Android friends or vice versa, they just need Duo.

Amit Fulay, the head of product for Allo and Duo, tweeted that the app has been downloaded 100 million times in just over 10 months. He also noted that there is much more to do.
