Qualcomm Releases Snapdragon 636 featuring Quick Charge 4!

Qualcomm is going to host the 5G summit in Hong Kong, where it will discuss the next-generation connectivity options with the other companies’ leaders. In this regard, Qualcomm has released the latest 14nm FinFET process-based Snapdragon 636 SoC. This will be the upgraded version of Snapdragon 630 chipset.

Moreover, this chipset will come with the Quick Charge 4 support, which will be useful for long displays and will also be helpful for displaying FHD+ resolution or the one of 2160 x 1080 pixels.

Snapdragon 636 will have the CPU known as Kyro 260 that will have 8 cores, and its clock speed will be up to 1.8GHz. According to Qualcomm, this SoC will provide 40% higher performance as compared to previous Snapdragon 630 SoC. Additionally, the GPU will be Adreno 509, which will also give 10% extra performance in comparison of Adreno 508.

Lastly, Snapdragon 636 will be capable of supporting either one 24MP camera or even two cameras of up to 16MP each. In this regard, Qualcomm Spectra 160 ISP will be useful.
