A couple weeks ago, Bloomberg broke the news that there is a likelihood for the merger of Sprint and T-Mobile, and the final details for this have not been revealed yet, as the last time we checked, the companies were discussing the exchange ratio, through which the valuation of both the companies could be determined. This was one of the last steps after which the merger could have been officially announced.
However, it has been confirmed today by Bloomberg that there is a regulatory bottleneck involved, and the final announcement might come after a few weeks, or even months. And this will be done after T-Mobile and Sprint finally report about their quarterly earnings. This will be done by November, and both the carriers might further delay the dates when they will report their earnings.
So, we now need to wait and see after checking out the quarterly reports if this merger actually happens or not, and how the arrangement about these two companies happens vis-à-vis their merger.
