LG Mobile division sales performance is dwindling yet the company is reporting profits on quarterly basis. The Korean tech giant sold 8.1 million LTE smartphones internationally for the quarter which is record performance by company. Moreover, the revenues in North America jumped up to 36% on a yearly basis, mainly due to successful sales of mid-range smartphones and tablets.

Here comes the bad part – the sales in the home country was underperforming and also the high-end segment saw a meeker demand, which shrank the overall profitability. Revenues mount up to 1% to $3.33 billion, however shipments dropped 3% making it a total of 14.1 million. On the whole, the mobile division reported a loss of $67.8 million.

It is speculated that LG now might go for dual strategy from now onwards, it will focus on high-end devices as well as mid-rangers for emerging nations.
