Microsoft recently launched Skype Lite. Skype Lite is a slicked version of its famous communications app precisely “Built for India”. Skype Lite was planned to reliably operate with restricted internet connectivity. The app is only 13Mb in size and its features supports nine regional languages. Skype Lite also supports Skype Bot platform. It is not only a communications tool but also an associated service that can keep you informed about weather, sports and local news or it can be anything.
The Android app exploits the India stack. Developers of this app used APIs to catch Indian users in a reliable and systematic manner. The app specifically brings convenience to job interviewers in India. The Android app produced a distinctive numerical ID for each Indian, which can be used for authentication.
As things stand right now, it seems unlikely that Skype Lite will make its way to developed countries but the app may launch in more developing countries with emerging markets in the future.
