Well, these days the marathon for slimmest smartphones is augmenting. But is it worthwhile to adopt fashion while sacrificing the usability and functionality of phone? This has become a burning question. The Oppo R5 with its thinnest body has yet caught the eye of everyone. It is commendable that it has shown some potential of trendy yet functional smartphone.

The handset is 4.85 mm thin. Physical dimensions are 148.9mm in length and 74.5mm in width. It has 5.2 inch screen with relatively thin bezel at left and right hand side of screen which provide enough space to hold mobile firmly. At 155g the smartphone feels heavier than what its size suggests it to be. The metal black plate gives a notable strained rigidity which further helps in molding the edges of device.

It assures a solid and well-structured device. Given how thin Oppo R5 is this is both surprising and reassuring.

However, due to the design, the 3.5mm head phone jack is missing. So the decision for thin means the headphone jack is sacrificed. It is built-in speaker or Bluetooth for your media.

Let’s hope that in the race of being thin, R5 proves to be Good Thin!
