We all know Google made a huge deal with HTC by acquiring 2000 of their smartphone design and engineering team. But HTC latest press release shared that they will be launching their next flagship HTC mobile phone this year.
“This agreement also supports HTC’s continued branded smartphone strategy, enabling a more streamlined product portfolio, greater operational efficiency and financial flexibility. HTC will continue to have best-in-class engineering talent, which is currently working on the next flagship phone, following the successful launch of the HTC U11 earlier this year.”
Financial flexibility mentioned means the company is under loss for around months and cutting salaries after the deal with Google would give them a space to grow or restructure their product portfolio.
HTC didn’t close its smartphone operations mainly because it would cause a negative effect on the inventory of the company holding carriers and stores all around the world.
