HMD Global actually borrowed Nokia brand in order to revive. The Nokia smartphones made by HMD Global are doing a pretty good job around the world. This hence does not stop HMD from doing even better.
It has now emerged that the company is aiming to take over another well-known brand that will help it sell even more phones in the future. This is going to be the Asha brand, which was first owned by Nokia, after which its mobile division was acquired by Microsoft, and after buying out Nokia brand, Microsoft fully took over the Asha brand as well.
So far, there is no final confirmation from HMD, still it is not clear why the company was able to trademark the Asha brand. It however appears that company might have finalized negotiations with Microsoft.
Anyhow, the main issue is whether the company plans to revive the Asha brand or not. Is it possible that we will be seeing the new line of Asha brand smartphones or not? Only time will decide that anyway!
