Gionee will launch a business smartphone with a security chip embedded at the back. According to sources, the smartphone dubbed M6 will come with hardware-based security solution. It is unlike other smartphone whose security solutions are software-based. The security chip is a black box residing the rear and in the middle.
Why a hardware solution? This is because the software system is more prone to security risks. According to Vice President Mr. Yu Lei, the M6 encryption chip will be placed near main silicon processor. The whole encryption process of the hardware will happen inside it, which does not allow anything to get stolen or hijacked.
Also the photos of the smartphone are making rounds on China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center website. The device looks well-built and closer to the top-tier of HTC and Samsung. There is no news on specs but it will likely to happen soon as the launch nears that is July 26.
