A faulty iPhone charging cable has cost a Vietnamese 14-year-old girl’s life due to electrocution while she was asleep.

According to the police sources, the teenager, who was named as Le Thi Xoan, had rolled over to the cable’s torn part, and resultantly she got exposed to the live wire part. This was also reported by The Mail Online yesterday.

Xoan’s parents found her lying unconscious and the device was lying just by her side. The incident happened in Ha Tinh area of Vietnam. Xoan was immediately taken to the hospital; however, she could not survive the shock experienced earlier, and was reported dead.

Initial police investigation reports that the rubber casing torn from one end might have caused the live wires getting revealed. Moreover, the police have also been currently investigating the charging cable and is trying to determine whether the cable was bought from third-party retailer or it came from Apple company with the original iPhone device.
