Report: This year’s iPhone will come with heavier 18W chargers

A report published by Chongdiantou reveals that Apple has already planned to use the latest USB-C standard for the chargers of upcoming iPhones, which will come in the box. At the moment, the iPhones released in 2017 come with 5W charger as well as a USB-A lightning cable, even when all these iPhones are able to support faster charging through the USB Power Delivery Standard.

This charger will possess the oval design, and it will be sporting the latest USB-C port having 18W Power Delivery current. Therefore, this cable coming with the new charger will have USB-C to Lightning connector.

When the 2017 iPhones were released, the users wishing to benefit from fast charging feature had to buy the 29W USB-C adapter for a price tag of $49 along with USB-C Lightening cable, which was priced at $29.80. This was supposed to be a higher price for this fast-charging feature.
