Samsung is the rumor mill of having or not having the top smartphone vendor position worldwide or Indian market. Recently Canalys published a market research unveiling that Samsung is dethroned by Micromax in the Indian market. Sammy, however, refuted this claim and presented Gfk research on actual sales data claiming that the next is still ¼ of it. Now a latest report by CyberMedia Research supports the Sammy’s claim. Although it pointed out that the leading vendor is “losing its earlier firm grip.” According to CMR Samsung has 16.3% market share which is a huge drop from 20.3%. Micromax and Nokia have 13.3% each.
“However, Samsung was seen to be losing its earlier firm grip on market, as its share of the market showed a downward trend during the year, as compared to Micromax that gained primarily in April-June 2014, but then continued to remain flat during the rest of the year,” the research firm said in a statement.
