Lollipop is currently the version that is widespread in the OS. It has diminished the share of KitKat to 34.3% from 36.1%. While Lollipop has increased its share by 2%, but the KitKat has lost 12% of the whole market share and it is likely to fall more.

Jelly bean is currently operating at 22.3% market share, Ice Cream Sandwich is as low as 2.3%, while Gingerbread is still running on various devices at 2.6% and Froyo’s is still in the market with 0.1% of the market share.

In next few months, more device will embrace Marshmallow so there is a fair chance of growth of this version of Android. So all the other Android versions will soon retire but incredibly slowly.
