Since the beginning of this year, we are certain about two things, i.e. Google Nexus and Pixel phones are getting the new Android security update, and the distribution chart of Google Android has been updated. In this regard, the chart has revealed latest updates about the market share grabbed by each version of Android OS.
The latest version is growing though, but the pace has been quite slow. About a month ago, Android Oreo had 0.5% of the market share, which has not grown up to 0.7%. However, this snail pace shows that it will take Android Oreo many months to achieve the 10% mark.
But one must not worry, because this has always been the case in the Android world. As the chart shows, Marshmallow is still the most famous and widely used version, which was released back in 2015. It has lost a bit of share though, i.e. declining from 29.7% to 28.6% last month. Moreover, Android Nougat has 26.3% share, while Lollipop has 25.1% share. KitKat has 12.8% share and Jelly Bean only has got 5.6% share. Lastly. Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich versions have now become almost obsolete and Oreo has already taken over them.
