Despite the fact that online sellers like Amazon has tried their best to launch phone that has sheer capacity to be the stud, but it failed in an outright manner. Amazon launched Fire Phone on June 18, 2014 with specs which are just the high-ends of that time, though, these have lost their shine by now.

Amazon first smartphone Fire Phone was a disappointment.

Amazon has 4.7-inch LCD display with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280 HD, featuring Snapdragon 800 chipset with quad-core humming at 2.2GHz. The graphics department is handled by Adreno 330 GPU. Inside is the 2GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage. The handset gets its life from 2400mAh battery. Camera-wise, it has a 13MP rear unit with an aperture f/2.0. The front-facer is 2.1 which is very modest to call for good selfies and video chats.

The Amazon Fire Phone was designed with four front units in camera and infrared LEDs, which helped to snap pictures in 3D. Amazon major response on phone was because of its Firefly feature, which is devoted in the button attached to one side, whose long-pressing initiates Firefly. You can scan books, web addresses, phone numbers, music and much more via Firefly. For instance, via info on the book Firefly will tell you the price of it on Amazon.

The Fire Phone was offered a limited number of Apps by Amazon AppStore. Initially, with 2-year contract, App store was offering the 32G memory version at $199.99, while the 64GB version cost you $299.99. Later, the 32 GB variant was priced at $199.99 sans contract.

The device did not make history in numbers, neither do it sell well. Though Amazon did talk about its successor, which never made the stage to date.
