It was rumored many a time earlier that last quarter of 2017 will see the release of barely improved version of Snapdragon 835 chipset possessing the name of Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 SoC. The new reports however suggest that those rumors will only remain a fiction and will not turn into a reality. The company has made it clear not to have any further plans to produce and release another high-end chipset this year.

It was also rumored extensively that Snapdragon 836 will be powering Google Pixel 2 as well as Pixel 2 XL. But this clarification suggests that those two flagship phones by Google will also be powered by so far high-end Snapdragon 835 SoC.

The company might be interested to release more SoC version by the end of this year, but it expected that they will belong to low or mid-range phones and would not really replace the already high-end Snapdragon 835 SoC.

Still, the accuracy of this report is questionable, but we can further say that there are bleak chances for replacement of Snapdragon 835 SoC any time soon.
