Samsung has a good name in the electronics industry and like RAM, flash memory, processors and displays etc.  But for the fingerprint scanners they depend upon the Synaptics which is an American company famous for the development of interfaces

Now there is news that Samsung will manufacture their own fingerprint scanners. Samsung’s system LSI department is working on it since last year. It is also working on manufacturing good processors, interfaces etc
Samsung will launch these fingerprint sensors next year with their low and middle range devices and later will launch them in the higher end devices like the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. If successful they would be selling it to other manufacturers too.  This is just a rumor and Samsung did not comment anything on it so far
