Last month, Xperia Z4 (The regional name of Z3+) has been found entangled in overheating issues due to its Snapdragon 810 Soc. This issue has been in the Qualcomm trouble box since the inception of 810 Soc. The chipset manufacturer has not yet owned this issue but Sony released the 28.0.A.7.24 update to remedy the issue.

The file weighs around 70MB and leaves the Android version at 5.0.2. If it’s available in your region, you can download the update from your phone or from a computer, user data will not be affected.

It is however still unclear whether the update will completely resolve this issue. The simplest way to do it is to throttle the CPU and GPU clockspeeds, though Sony could have a more elaborate solution.

The HTC M9 had similar issues which did resolve by such updates but not completely. It has since released another update to keep the M9 cooler while it charges, so wrangling Snapdragon 810 into submission is no easy task.
