Many countries have been offering the smartphones to customers on subsidized pricing, a trend that is no more practical in USA. In this regard, a Canadian carrier namely Telus is giving its customers Essential Phone for $0 down, but it will be offered through a 2-year contract.
However, the cost of this plan will begin from $95 per month. This is right, as it will get you the phone literally for free. The price of the phone would otherwise have been $1050.
However, since the company has only been successful in selling 5,000 units so far in USA, hence this move might enable few more people to get the grab on Essential Phone so as to increase the number of customers of Essential.
This also seems to be the desperate attempt on part of Essential as well, but Telus is fairly getting advantage of that desperation.
