Samsung will unveil flexible smartphones at MWC 2016.

Flexible Smartphone, “enough has been revealed about it” and the rest will come in parts as the launch of the subject nears. Currently as per Bloomberg, it is just one year away, 2017 at Barcelona MWC. The first innovation is rumored to have 5-inch display with an 8-inch diagonal purporting a tablet. This could be in the form of book where pages of the screens could be flipped in a phone. The other will be just like a make-up kit box that flips once. If you remember the name, it is code-named “Project Valley”.

It is evident that these smartphones will not be a part of Samsung Galaxy S series. The new X series will launch these. This series will come with organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays embedding a 4K resolution. However, the challenge, that these out-of-the box handset should have interface that is compatible to the unique design. Samsung was also granted patent to place virtual button on the edges of the screen to avoid design distortions.

Samsung is not an exception looking for OLED bendable options. LG is already in the game with its super-efficient folding consumer electronics. Apple has also jumped in the OLED race with formally introducing smartphones till 2018.

The good part is you can take the above as a heavy dose of salt as the jar containing the spice has already been spilled out.
