It was already rumored earlier this year that both US and China will get the SD 820 version of the Samsung next flagship model S7. Previously Samsung only go for Exynos 7420 for S6 due to overheating issues in the SD 810 chipset. But for the first time there will be two variant with two chipsets, one will be the Exynos 8890 and other will be SD 820.
A posting from Weibo, Chinese tipster, seconds a previous rumors. The original speculation says that the SD 820 is optimized for the S7 with better thermal management and lower power consumption. The Weibo post a new Geekbench test recently done with the SD820 and it scored an impressive 2456 on the single-core test. Further it also scored an outstanding 5423 on the multi-core test.
So this time US and Chinese buyers will not have any issues with heating and performance of the handsets.
The Galaxy S7 will unveil on February 21st just one day after MWC event in Barcelona, during a scheduled unpacked event by Samsung.
