Two smartphones have been receiving record pre-orders since their launch and are yet to sell more. For this reason Samsung is predicting the Galaxy s6 to sell record number this year. The official sources in media reports have expressed their concerns and said that they might not able to meet the overwhelming demand, esp. for the double edged model. The market experts believe that S6 will sell more than its edged brother but the edged one is more difficult supply due to production hindrances. That is why shortage of S6 Edge is predicted in various markets. As HMC Investment analyst Greg Roh noted:“Some carriers are switching existing orders to get more of the S6 edge, and it looks like demand for the model will exceed supply throughout this year. That means average selling price will fall at a slower rate, which will have a positive impact on Samsung overall”Sammy hasn’t still shared its expectations regarding sale of Galaxy S6 but a rough estimate shows that it will cross 50 million units this year. We also know that Samsung is now more inclined towards in-house chipset rather than Qualcomm’s. J.K. Shin also made it clear that the two companies are still working together and the motivation behind the switch in silicon is simply that:“We have to use the best engines to make our products competitive, which is why we opted to use our own chips”The president and CEO also noted that:“We may very well end up using products from Qualcomm again in the next Galaxy phone”
