In the recent CES Polaroid has launched it series of smartphones. Though it is not a major smartphone player, Polaroid has emphasized on inexpensiveness with new designs. The Polaroid Snap is a low-end device which comes in three screen variants 5-inch, 5.5-inch, and 6-inch. However, every diagonal supports same resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, so the pixel density gets lower as the screen gets larger.
All the Snaps run on a quad-core processor with an unnamed chipset accompanying 1GB/8GB and 2GB/16GB memory configuration. In camera department, it supports a 13MP rear camera 5MP front facer coupled with LED flashes.
Snap on launch will boot Android 5.1.1 with a Marshmallow update coming anytime soon. The price could be from $130 to $180, depending on the display size.
The Polaroid Power is a bit high-end with 6-inch FullHD screen. Similar to the Snap the chip is unknown, but the smartphone deploys a whopping 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
Camera-wise, the rear camera is 13MP, on paper at least and the front one is without a flash. Further, the device packs 3,000mAh capacity, but Polaroid is a bit high with 8,000mAh power bank with the smartphone. The rest of the features like LTE support, Lollipop out of the box and Marshmallow later –will be just as that of Snap. This one is priced $250, which is a bit expensive for the hardware.
