Pie Message, an open source program, is prepping to launch iMessage for Android platform. The project is still incomplete but can be used in other apps built by anyone.

The Pie usually supports the Mac in its Messaging server. The Pie send a text to your Mac device, which can then be delivered via real iMessage service.

This is a convenient method to restrict Apple to crack codes since it is the Mac in use. It also facilitates other target markets. If you have Mac but friends on iOS, you can still use it to chat with people around. Moreover, it will now be introduced for Android and you can even use it except iOS devices.

The service has currently limited usability. The Developer has notified that Pie Message can receive group messages but still have hurdles sending it.
