The most report from Strategy analytics suggests that Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus had the most number of shipments in the 2^nd quarter of 2017, thereby surpassing the sales and shipments of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+.

According to the report, a total of 16.9 million units of iPhone 7 were shipped in 2^nd quarter of 2017 alone, which were followed by iPhone 7 Plus, which had 15.1 million units sold. In this regard, these two smartphones had grabbed 4.7% and 4.2% of the total market share in 2^nd quarter of 2017.

In comparison to that, Samsung Galaxy S8 became third with 10.2 million units shipped and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus having 9 million units shipped. These statistics suggest that iPhone grew in popularity as compared to the Samsung’s flagship smartphones, and it is expected that the competition will be intense with the release iPhone 8 from Apple and Galaxy Note 8 from Samsung in September 2017.
