Huawei Honor 4C, the Budgeted smartphone of Honor line up, has created immense thrill among the Pakistani users. Even though it has not proven to be an all in one saga but has started capturing the market share ever since its launch in the country. Honor 4C gives display size, RAM, camera and processor a facelift.

Unlike Honor 3C, which was glossy, plastic and squeaky, the body of the 4C has proved to be more grip-refined thus making the handset more solid in hands. In Honor 4C the glossy impression at the back has been replaced by textured finish which makes it easy to grab even in Palm-sweating.  It has pretty standard configuration for front camera which is at the right, proximity and light sensors on the left and notifications LED on further left.

The Honor 4C packs a 5.0-inch display which is towering in this mid-tier phone. This display is also bright and sharp and provides decent sunlight legibility. With the resolution of 1280×720 pixels, this phone has the perfect pixel density for your eyes. At 294 ppi, this is close to the so-called retina specifications Apple use extensively in marketing iPhones. Honor 4C has 13MP rear camera with single LED flash and a 5MP front snapper. Usually the camera performs well in brighter light but changes noticeably when there is poor lighting condition and gives dim performance. It does not means the interior lights of most houses. The front camera, however, is a real charm. It works well in both dim lights and bright lights.

The device currently runs run Android 4.4 KitKat with Emotion UI 3.0 on top. This is the custom interface run on Huawei devices. UI purposes subtle animations, lots of whites in accordance with material guidelines and translucent effects all over it. Soon the device will be receiving the latest Lollipop update. The overall interface is very resonant to Apple’s iOS, however, there’s no app drawer, you get quick control from lock screen for music, flashlight, but that’s not bad. People love iOS and I am sure people will love the EMUI 3.0 of the Honor 4C too. In Connectivity options, it includes 3G band only and not 4G LTE.

The Phone is powered by a 1.2 Ghz Octa-Core (eight-cores) 64-bit processor on a HiSilicon Kirin 620 chipset. Both the chipset and processor are home-grown. As the Android usually support 32-bit computing, the 64-bit is an overdose. Also the mobile does not require 64-bit as there is no heavy computing to be done on the Honor 4C. You can just use all of it for your daily smartphone rituals. With a 2GB RAM, the Honor 4C has just the right amount of computing power that will make you happy for the price you paid for it. Heavy games like The Amazing Spider Man 2 and Asphalt 8 lag a little but games like Subway Surfer, Temple Run 2 and Highway Rider play well, though they too make the phone run really hot. However the phone will not disappoint you considering the current mid-tier offerings in the market.

The Honor 4C comes with a 2550mAh battery that will last a whole day depending on the usage. There are not many phones in mid-tier that are living up to people’s expectation but as far as the Huawei Honor 4C is concerned, it offers monstrous and promising specs in just 21K that really embraces the reward for itself. In addition, the Honor 4C Gold color version will launch at the end of June in Pakistan.
