Two primary tiers Facebook is planning in the entertainment section, one which Facebook own would have scripted shows of episodes from 20-30 minutes, on the other hand unscripted shows won’t be owned by Facebook and would last from 5-10 minutes. For longer scripted videos, Facebook is giving out $250,000, a strategy successfully implemented by Amazon.com and Netflix. For second tier, the company is paying $10,000 – 35,000 per show, also giving creators the 55% of the ad revenue.
Facebook acquiring and licensing original content is putting it into the competition with Snapchat’s Discover feature, YouTube Red, and other traditional TV networks.
