Woah?! But Why?! Lifestage App being shut down?! Why, Facebook?!
The Facebook administration has decided to shut down a teen-oriented app, Lifestage, which was released in August last year. The basic purpose of this application was to help users build a smart portfolio of videos through teens could show who they really are and what interests they have.
As we know, the basic purpose of releasing this app was to compete with the famous Snapchat. However, this turned out to be a failed venture from Facebook, as the teens did not take much interest in using it.
Similarly, rather than investing on the Lifestage, Facebook tried to make few changes into the Instagram, Facebook and Messenger apps in order to keep in toe the Snapchat, in which the former has rather been successful.
As of yesterday, only 10 individuals around the world were using this app, and hence it could have been the right move from Facebook to shut down this app, as it was rather appearing to be an embarrassment for Facebook rather than an asset for it.
