App shortcuts were introduced in Android Nougat to quickly access the apps that are mostly used. It will help access the apps directly from its icon on home screen. It is a smart idea that avoids the requirement to have a pressure-sensitive display and perhaps does a similar job.

This same well-ordered trick has now been leveraged to make the Super Shortcuts application, which will perform a better job than making folders on home screen. It will make your phone’s wallpaper more presentable.
The idea is the same as with app shortcuts, but instead of an individual app, you can launch a number of your most used apps directly from the Super Shortcut icon on the home screen. It takes less space than a folder, and is quicker to access as well:

- Open up Google Play
- Download Super Shortcuts
- Set it up to pop shortcuts to your most used apps or functions
- Place it on your home screen
