Chinese OEM Xiaomi will hit African smartphone market this month. The countries including South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya will be first to start selling the Xiaomi devices in their respective market.Initially, smartphones that will go on sale is Redmi 2 and Mi 4. As far as the price is concerned, the former will set you back for $160, the latter
comes at around $320. Xiaomi will collaborate with Mobile In Africa (MIA) Group – which is currently present in 14 African countries – as a full-service distributor for the aforementioned markets, providinglogistics,importation, marketing, and support services.
“We see Africa as the next frontier for smartphone growth and we are excited to be partnering with MIA Group to offer consumers in these three countries our high-quality smartphones at amazing prices,” said Xiaomi’s Global Strategy Director Raymond Tian.
